It'll be fine once you're over the pain barrier... and if your current reed hasn't given up the ghost completely!
I'm always worse after a gap if I've got to break a new clarinet reed in as well. -

The reeds seem to be remarkably consistent, even after a gap. I have some Ricoh "plasticover" (I think they're called). They have a little plastic coating - probably scoffed at by the professional but good for me.
It's my playing that suffers more after a break - an inability to get any flow and it all seems like harder work. -
so what is stopping you?
